wow.. I just realised that its been about 2 weeks since I've been here. To summarise, I've been in the US for about 10 days now, and its been pretty great so far. We spent our first 2 days in NY- that was majorly cool because I got to go to Central Park, which is filled with dogs in the morning, then to the Metropolitan Museum of Art- I actually stood there trying to appreciate Monets, Manets, Reniors, Leonardos, Michealangolos.. even furniture counts as art in some of the exhibits. We spent an entire day there and yet we didn't see all there was to see. Can you imagine the size of the building? Its like joining up Taka and Wisma and Wheelock together with 3 levels filled with all sorts of stuff. Some paintings were like, centuries old.
Aside from that we wandered around on our own, ate like the people, travelled on a most shocking subway and just had a lot of fun. I did wish jer was there for me to enthuse to though. After that we went to Foxwood-which is a casino owned by Native Americans-its in Conneticut. The place itself was quite boring (since I don't and can't gamble) but there was this really awesome museum of the Peqout Tribe. They actually spent US$120 million to build it. ANd it wasn't boring at all! They had this life size village, with life sized everything from people to huts to animals. And these things weren't fenced in, they just trust you not to touch them.
After that dad joined us in Massachusetts, and we stayed in this pretty ulu town called Tewksbury. The 3 of them are still there actually. During that time we shopped for my stuff at WalMart, went blueberry picking..
I'm using one out of the two comps that serve the dorm -pathetic ratio, but the comp is really fast and it has a really big screen.. And all I have to say about my room is that its messy and ant infested. Size wise its not that bad, after I saw my friend's room. Hers was just dismal. Jer's NTU room looked luxurious compared to Jhia Huei's. She's from NJ too, so when we feel lonely we talk about Michael and how he's just wrong, and laugh about how suaku we behave. I am ashamed to admit that I keep pointing at the wildlife here and screaming "Squirrel!" or "chipmunk! Aww.. thats so cute.."
What can I say? Walking to breakfast is like talking a nature trail- Bukit Timah Nature Reserve eat dust! My family even saw a deer trying to cross the road. With all said, I really do appreciate so many things about home now that I'm here.. like a simple Mrt system thats clean and reliable, Orchard road being 10 mins away.. and of course the food. I haven't had decent noodles ever since I got here. And I miss all the people I know. All together now, aww...
P.S. don't ask about the weather cos right now its equivalent to S'pore weather. Sigh.

Its the last day that I'm going to be sitting in this chair, staring at the screen, sometimes cursing because our supposedly advanced computer behaves like a brat. Oh dear.. it sounds so gloomy doesn't it?
Knocked out yesterday and had dreamless, deep sleep till this morn, quite restful I'd say. Read Jer's blog too.. and felt really touched. Several things to settle today (do I sound like mafia?).

I'm a hamster! Running inside the wheel thingy, going faster and faster and faster until my legs give way, but still wanting to keep going faster because there's so much I want to do.
Been meeting different groups of people over the weekend- so much so that the only time I truly rest at home is when I'm sleeping. But I'm not complaining, because these are people whom I love, who drive me nuts sometimes.. and whom I drive nuts too!
Car, Jo and Ellince, thanks for the aamzingly creative calendar~ you remembered tt I have a weakness for chocolate!
Jiing, your flowers are now on the dining table (its looks like a mini hotel centrepiece cos i put it in a pretty bowl)
Ai Ling thank you for the CD- will go listen to it..
Fan, Fen and Wei- your towels!!!! Haha.. forgetful ppl. Wei your bracelet is with me!
Sharon, I claim your 'I love SMU' bottle ;)
Twin, thank you for the very apt and biyou-tiful postcard.
Guys thanks for taking time out- i know its a pain being dragged around,
Benny, you gotta dance for me k? and
Jer, thanks for spending time with me though its always inconvenient for you. And thank you for the devotionals and bhattura~spot on my man..
Haha. I feel very blessed all of a sudden. What am I talking about? I AM blessed.

I've had a productive morning *beam* Went to LLF to say my goodbyes, then over to NJ to get certified copies of my A level cert... Met Mrs Lim who happily made quick work of the signing. Life, she says, is bad. Haha. Whats new man? Saw Melvyck and Michelle too. Hopped over to Suntec, picked up free bag, had lunch with daddy.. and did grocery shopping after that. Hey, its not morning anymore!
The fact that I'm leaving soon has yet to fully hit me~ but the next few days are being stretched to their limits. Dear God, please let all the plans go smoothly.

*waaaah* I've got a cavity... and now a big silver filling in its place. *sigh* and here I thought I took care of my teeth well. Bleah. More brushing for me. Gonna be like the brush teeth girl in the airplane.
Had dinner with my relatives yesterday night. My aunt is a blast. She's a born comedian, as are her kids (although they weren't there, they still provided us with much laughter) On Friday there was a murder case where this man strangled 3 of his kids after buying them KFC. Of of them happened to be my cousin's schoolmate. So my cousin asked his mom why the man killed his kids. The following is a true conversation:
Mom:Because the guy's wife earned more than him mah..
Mark: Then he spend the wife's money lah, whats his problem???
Mom: But I heard that the wife may have a boyfriend..
Mark: Then he go get a girlfriend lah, whats his problem??? Mom, don't buy me KFC anymore ok, I don't want..
*slap forehead* wise words from my 11 year old cousin.
His bro Brian is just as bad. The school organised counselling sessions for those who knew the boy, and he went to attend them. So my aunt asked him if he was traumatised. His answer: No. But I got to skip 2 lessons.
These kids are terrors.
Yen has discovered the joys of linkin park- he bought meteora and blasted it in the hotel room on Sat. Gran's reaction to it was priceless.

I am in a beautiful room!!! Its spacious and lovely... and its in Genting!
Haha. Never thought our room would have a comp. So Jer, we can still talk! Kinda. Been quite long since I've been on this hill to stay the night.. much has changed. Thus it seems like everything has srung up or morphed overnight (actually over 7 years..), and all of a sudden I don't feel that superior feeling of familiarity I used to have as a 10 year old kid commanding the hills. Haha.
They even have a shopping area- that kind of mixes with the entertainment and food zone and is so noisy you can't hear yourself think, much less speak. The neon lights and plethora of sounds serves as a reminder that I'm under sensory assault, and that there's no stopping it!
A little hungry at the moment, despite having eaten mac n cheese as well as breakfast.
Yesterday I got to drive! Yay yay yay. Even reversed the car nicely into a lot with one swing. Haha.. jer u hear that?? I can do it k.. Think my bro is a little apprehensive of sitting in when I'm at the wheel no matter how short the distance.
Have more faith! ;)

In my home country now, wondering why it always seems warmer than Singapore. Maybe its the lack of a sea breeze. Maybe its just psychological. Anyways, I'm glad I'm back in the cool sanctuary of the house. Apartment actually. Will be going off to Genting (the word most grossly mispronounced by Singaporeans with the exception of lingerie perhaps) tomorrow methinks. Not much excitement there... but I do know that I'll be heaing many familiar lahs and lehs.. and plenty of mandarin to boot.
Got presents for roommates, applied for the new IC (I hate my picture. As always.)and... if I'm not wrong we'll be going out again later. I just realised that KL has birthed many new shopping complexes~ good for us shoppers, but not for the shop owners I guess. The consumer dollar is just getting more diluted as we get more spoilt for choice. Yeah.. was thinking about how shpping is a major pastime- so much so that places of attraction usually include shopping as one of the activities... eh, perhaps this is my guilty side speaking. Haha. Feel kind of bad spending when I'm not earning you see. I shall attempt to be more prudent.
Really!

I'm wearing new shoes as I type this. *grin* No, I'm not nuts.. I'm just trying to break them in. They didn't have a larger size (this always happens to me. grrr) so what am I to do? They are rather snug so the nice lady helped me to stretch them a bit. I do believe that its more of a psychological thing though. Jer paid for the shoes... thank you dear. Feel spoilt~ but I guess thats good isn't it? (and yes, I'm going to continue to call him dear just to irritate whoever the sugar bunny is *wink* noone tells me what I can do or not.)
Took bro out this morning to shop for his shoes, pants and socks. With mom of course- we ladies need support. It took us a good 2 hours to get him shoes, because they can't be to flashy, must be durable etc etc (he reminds me of myself) and I think in Queensway its just difficult to bring yourself to buy something that costs more than $80 because you'd expect lower prices right? Yeah well. Because of that mindset I ended up walking 3 times around the ground floor and twice around the second floor with a whiny bro in tow. Never again.

Here I am again. As expected, no shoes came home with me. My cousin and her friend came over yesterday to bunk with us for the day, after a week of training here. I do believe they've gone through most if not all of the major shopping centres down town. Its nice to know that we can still talk and laugh together~ its been quite a while since we've seen each other.
Twas Dara's birthday yesterday, happy birthday girl!
Just got back from Bugis... think I'd like to head there sometime soon just to look at stuff. Haven't really been shopping there lately. Feeling ever so slightly rotten and snappy, probably due to the many many small things that have been scratching at me with tiny claws. Yet I will thank God for this life He has given me, I will bless His Name for He has died for me.
